So here is the model of Kagamine Rin based on

's reference image (
[link]) I am actually working on. This week I have done the texture.
Quite honestly, even if the model isn't looking bad, I must admit I am quite unsatisfied with it as I though I could have done better. I was hoping to find a way to make the toon shader looks good, I told myself I would do some wear with textures and fold with sculpting on the shorts but it turns out I was unable to make anything looks good in that area. I would also have liked to do some bump mapping for some parts of the model but I just don't have this motivation anymore.
The rigging and skinning is planned to be complete for next week, so the model should be good to be animated there.
As always, your comments and suggestions to improve the model are most welcome.
On the other hand i think you are kinda hard on yourself, you are, without a doubt improving and this work is really nice, the color you used are awesome and the details are astounding. Seriously i look at the sash for exemple, or the electronical part on the forearm that was such a pain for you on Miku. The skin color is better, the knee look like knee... There is really really few imperfection on this one. I dont tell than always aiming higher is a bad thing but.. you should see it when you do something great too.
And thanks for the reminder of my improvement. I think it was mainly frustration as I tried a lot of stuff that didn't work and when that happens you have the feeling you failed and that you loosed your time. But you're right, I've taken a look back at my Miku model and I must say that this one looks better. I'll try to keep better spirit the next time it doesn't goes as good as expected.
Thanks for the input!
Tu es capable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
